A fun “at home” meal. You can use ingredients from your pantry for the toppings. We like to make pizzas as part of movie or game night.
Ingredients
  • 2 ready made pizza dough balls (can sometimes be found in the prepared food area of your supermarket.
  • 1 cup of flour
  • 1 jar of pasta sauce
  • 2 packages of shredded cheese ( I like to use 2 or 3 different cheeses)
  • 2 large onions sliced
  • 1 package of mushrooms sliced
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F. Arrange racks so you can place two pizzas in oven at the same time.
  2. One hour before making pizzas place each dough ball in a greased bowl and cover with moist towel so the dough will rise. After one hour, punch down raised dough balls.
  3. While dough is rising you can cook your toppings.
  4. Saute the onions and mushrooms and place aside.
  5. Flour a clean counter area. Roll out one dough ball into a large enough shape to fit your pizza pan. Place on pan. Repeat for the second dough ball.
  6. Lightly brush olive oil around the top edges of the pizza.
  7. Spread pasta sauce around the pizza. Use only a light covering of sauce.
  8. Sprinkle cheese on pizza. Top cheese with the onion and mushrooms.
  9. Place both pizzas in oven. Cook for 8 minutes. Then rotate pizzas moving the one on the bottom rack to the top rack and vice versa. Cook an additional 8 minutes or until doneness is perfect for you.
  10. ENJOY!
Serving Suggestions

Get creative with toppings: mushrooms, onions, olives, grilled chicken, ham, pepperoni, shredded BBQ beef. There are lots of possibilities.
