Salt. It's an ingredient that many of us watch when buying food or preparing foods. "Oh I try not to eat those they have too much salt!" "Did you salt this?" We've all heard these statements.
How much is too much? What is the healthy amount for a person to consume in one day?
Well, my sister shared this video with me the other morning. It was a very useful video. This ABC news report provides good information about how much salt you should really consume in one day. Also it shares the good news that food manufacturers are reducing the salt content in some packaged foods.

Now, if you are preparing food and using salt there are also questions. What kind of salt should I use?
I use Kosher salt with most of my cooking and even at the table for salting my food. But there is a time and place for different salts. Cooks Illustrated.com had a great article about salt and the differences.
What’s the difference between table and kosher salts and when should I use each?
So if reducing your salt was a new years resolution, then perhaps these articles will help you.
Happy Cooking!
